Action in the City

The City of Châteauguay is quietly changing. Projects are being finalized, efforts deployed are bearing fruit and plans of action are being put into motion. For all the actors engaged in this change, the watchword is simple: make Châteauguay a city where people are enjoying life. Make it a dynamic, attractive, animated place where citizens will be able to smile, work and have a good time.

Already, Autoroute 30 has arrived to change our landscape, our method of displacing ourselves. By bringing ourselves closer to all the municipalities in our region, the new highway makes Châteauguay a centre of attraction on which numerous eyes are fixed.

The Downtown Project is beginning to take shape. The Citizens' Square will be inaugurated in the coming months, the municipal garage has moved its base to the Industrial Park, and the site formerly occupied by the municipal workshops and public works department will adopt a completely new vocation in the years to come.

Besides these inspiring projects, the renovation of our infrastructures also takes up an important place. The rejuvenation of the water purification plant, a reservoir for drinking water, the repaving of numerous streets, the beautifying of certain parks, the safety of pedestrians and cyclists; all that is also on the agenda. Moreover, more than $21 million has already been proclaimed for repaving streets. 

You will also be invited to take part in numerous activities, organized by our groups and by our different services. This summer, the Activ'.Été program will enable close to 1,000 local youngsters to experience a more animated summer season.
