Located in the Vanier Cultural Centre, 15 Maple boulevard, the Galerie La Seigneurie with its 80 square meters, is an ideal place for the dissemination of visual arts. The Gallery presents a dozen exhibitions annually, and provides exceptional visibility to artists. A busy place, it’s visited regularly by diehard fans and insiders.
Two itineraries are proposed to you
The village of Chateauguay is the scene of the patriotic uprisings of 1837 and 1838. Several Chateauguay residents take an active part in this movement which also includes the Western world.
In addition to being central to the development of the old village, being the place where the Chateauguay community has been interacting since the seigneury period, St. Joachim Church is cited as a historic Quebec monument and a national historic place in Canada.
The Maison LePailleur team is offering guided tours of this patrimonial jewel. In addition to observing the architectural and cultural richness of the building whose construction began in 1775, you will learn about the religious life of the Chateauguay ancestors: beliefs, rites and superstitions.
