Waste collection and recycling
The MRC de Roussillon is responsible for the management of household garbage (6 units or less) and recycling collection throughout its territory.
A service is offered by the MRC de Roussillon to deal with any complaints, inquiries or questions from the citizens of its territory exclusively for the garbage and recycling collections, at 514.928.5227
Since the recycling is collected with a truck using a robotic claw, the 360 litre bin must be positioned correctly, on the side of the road; a 0.6 m (2 foot) space must be left on each side as well as behind the bin. During the winter, the snowplow must be able to accomplish its task
The wheels and handles must be facing the house while the recycling logo, on the front of the bin, must be facing the street.
To obtain a new bin if yours is broken, contact the public works department of the city of Châteauguay at 450.698.3150.
