Châteauguay celebrates Earth Day: Free Paper Shredding and Biodiversity days

Wednesday, 10 April, 2019

In April, Ville de Châteauguay is holding two awareness-raising activities together with Héritage Saint-Bernard to celebrate Earth Day.

Free paper shredding at the Agora

On Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents are invited to go to the Agora, located at 75 boulevard Maple, to take advantage of a free document shredding service provided by Shred it. Since this is the peak income tax time, it is an ideal opportunity to get rid of unnecessary documents in complete confidentiality. There is no limit to the quantity of paper that residents can bring, and staples do not need to be removed from documents. This service is also provided for organizations.

Biodiversity days on île Saint-Bernard

On Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., naturalist guides will be at Île Saint-Bernard to help the public to discover the scope of biodiversity in the Marguerite-D’Youville Wildlife Refuge. Do not miss this opportunity to enjoy spending time outdoors in nature, while learning more about the local flora and fauna! In addition, on these two days only, a 20% discount will be offered with the purchase of either an individual or a family annual trail access pass. Remember that revenues from the sale of passes go directly to Héritage Saint-Bernard whose mission is to protect île Saint-Bernard and manage other natural areas, including the Fernand-Seguin Ecological Centre.

Over the next few weeks, please get involved by participating in one of these activities! Your actions can lead to change!
