Ban lifted, watering is now allowed

Tuesday, 4 September, 2012

The City of Châteauguay wishes to inform the public that the watering ban is now lifted.

However, the municipality appeals to all citizens to avoid wasting drinking water, an essential resource. Residents are asked to strictly abide by the municipal watering bylaw that allows watering between 9 p.m. and midnight, on even days for residences with an even civic number and on odd days for the residences with an odd civic number.

The hot weather produces many opportunities for abusing the drinking water supply. To avoid another total ban on watering, and penalizing all residents, the municipality calls on everyone to use their common sense and conform to the municipal bylaw. Not respecting the bylaw could result in a ticket being issued – Bylaw G-2000, Chapter VI).

Please note that the City of Châteauguay uses the electronic signboards, its website, its newsletter (write your email address to subscribe), its Facebook page and Twitter to advise citizens of any abnormal situation.
