Collection of Household Garbage and Recycling during the Holiday Season

Monday, 5 December, 2011
The City of Châteauguay would like to inform residents that household garbage pickup and recycling collections will take place as usual during the Holiday Season.
The collection of recyclable materials will take place according to the regular schedule, every Monday, every week and throughout the municipality.
Too much cardboard for your bin? Don’t throw the boxes in the garbage. There will be a collection of surplus cardboard on Monday, January 9, 2012. Simply put the cardboard near your recycling bin (60 cm – 2 feet) before 7 a.m. the morning of the collection.  Do not tie the cardboard together and do NOT put it in recycling bin.
The collection of household garbage will take place according to the regular schedule, Thursday & Friday, according to the sector.
Christmas trees will not be picked up until the Thursday and Friday, January 19 and 20, 2012 garbage pickups. However, they can be brought to the Ecocentre, where the visit will not be considered as one of your allowable annual visits. It is important that you remove all the ornaments from the tree, including the icicles! Please take note that the Ecocentre will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2011 and January 1 and 2, 2012.
Reminder
Don’t forget to put your recycling bin or your garbage containers before 7 a.m. on collection day.
Also, please make sure that the garbage and recycling containers are placed on your property, not in the street or on the sidewalk, so as not to interfere with the traffic and snow removal operations.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season!
