Dog patrol: Reminder of the regulation in force

Friday, 5 October, 2018

Châteauguay has had a new animal control contract with SPCA Roussillon in force since July. In particular, the organization raises the awareness of citizens regarding municipal regulations in force concerning animals and handles complaints from citizens on the subject during its patrol hours. It is also able to issue tickets for non-compliance with municipal regulations on animals.

The patrol goes up and down city streets to ensure compliance with the regulations. The employees of SPCA Roussillon visit different places in Châteauguay on a regular basis and take action when the regulations are not enforced (e.g., a dog that is not on a leash, without tags, is found in a park where dogs are not permitted). They also monitor de Concord Park and will also monitor future dog parks that will be established by the end of October.

The following parks allow dogs on a leash:

1.  Jules-Léger Park (Rideau Street)

2.  MacDonell Park (Birch Street, near Robert Street East)

3.  Pelletier Park (Pelletier Street)

4.  James-Palmer Park (Dunver and Lafontaine streets)

5.  De la Seigneurie Park (Woodbine and Montcalm streets)

6.  G.-E.-Cartier Park (Cartier and Réal streets)

7.  De Cambrai Park (Saint-Joseph Blvd. and Sullivan St.)

8.  Colpron Park (Dubois St., at the corner of Robinson St.)

9.  Joseph-Laberge Park (Salaberry Nord Blvd., at the corner Saint-Francis Blvd.,)

10.  Vincent Park (Vincent and Carillon streets)

11.  Léonide-Laberge Park (Wilbrod and Maurice streets)

12.  De la Commune Park (D’Youville Blvd. and Edmour St.)

13.  Marcel-Seers Park (at the corner of D’Youville Blvd. and Girouard St.)

14.  Yvan-Franco Park (De Gaulle Blvd. and Desmarais St.)

15.  Charles-de Gaulle Park (De Gaulle Blvd. and Sainte-Marguerite St.)

16.  Green space at the corner of Laramée and Rainville streets
