Pedestrian lights at the corner of D'Anjou and St-Joseph will be repaired in May

intersection D'Anjou et St-Joseph

The pedestrian lights located at the corner of D'Anjou and St-Joseph boulevards, which are out of service for a few weeks now, will be in function again in May. This winter, the lights were put out of service because of interference with the traffic lights, which caused them to blink. In order to solve the problem during the winter season, an excavation across boulevard D'Anjou was necessary. This would have resulted in a complete closure of the intersection for two days at least.

With these complications, the City made the decision to wait for the thaw period to proceed with the repairs, without going through a complete excavation of the boulevard. A partial excavation is planned on both sides of the artery, which will allow to pass an underground electrical wiring. Although this delay may seem long in the eyes of some, it is the best time possible given the complexity of the work required. All that remains is to wait for the green light from Mother Nature.
