Honoré-Mercier Bridge

Find information on various works or traffic jams in the area.

Boulevard d'Anjou

October 5 to October 9, 2020

Rehabilitation work on boulevard d'Anjou will be carried out between boulevard St-Joseph and rue Bell. Due to closure of lanes, only one lane will be available in each direction during this period.

Rue Craik

July 6 to November 1: LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY, between Saint-Francis Boulevard and Dunver Street. A detour route is planned through St. Francis and Maple Boulevards, Mcleod and Dunver Streets and Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard. Signal signs are on site to guide road users.

The work, which is expected to last 15 weeks, will begin onmonday, July 6. During the work, the road will be closed in sections in order to build the water and sewer networks and complete the street foundation. Notices will be distributed to inform residents of the upcoming work so they can coordinate access to their residences. The City will do everything possible to facilitate the various collections (recycling, garbage, organic waste) and give access to emergency vehicles to ensure that people have maximum quality of life during the work.

Honoré-Mercier bridge

Maintenance work is slated for the Honoré-Mercier Bridge throughout summer 2020.

The main objectives of the work are:

  • Priority interventions over the next three years (2020–2022);
  • Reconstruction project (in planning);
  • Longer life at optimal cost.

**** COMPLETED PROJECTS ****

Rue d'Abbotsford

Work to replace an water main will begin on May 25 and will continue until July 3. Detour roads will help redirect traffic.

Important: The work may cause brownish water for residences in this area. Despite its unusual colour, the water is perfectly safe to drink.

If such a situation occurs, we invite you to let the water run, preferably through the bath tap, until it becomes colourless again.

Chemin de la Haute-Rivière

June 8 to 23

Modification of the median to allow access to 225 chemin de la Haute-Rivière will reduce the number of traffic lanes. Only one lane will be available in each direction, which could slow traffic in the area.

Boulevard Industriel

Ville de Châteauguay confirms that the work to upgrade Industriel Boulevard will resume on Tuesday, May 19 and completion is expected by the end of the year.

Traffic disturbed

 To allow work to progress rapidly, starting on May 19:

  • Traffic on Industriel Boulevard, between Ford Boulevard and Bélanger, will be one way, similar to 2019, for an indefinite period;
  • Traffic on Industriel Boulevard, between Bélanger and Pascal streets, will be completely closed.

The detour will be by way of Sainte-Marguerite Boulevard, Albert-Einstein Boulevard and Pascal St.
