The working committee on the future of Manoir D’Youville encourages citizens and organizations to express their opinions

Wednesday, 26 September, 2018

Châteauguay, September 26, 2018 – The Ville de Châteauguay’s working committee on the future of Manoir D’Youville is calling on residents, organizations and merchants to submit their suggestions in writing to guide the working committee’s thinking on the future vision for and best possible use of the City’s asset.

What should the suggestion contain?

The text submitted should answer one of the following questions as briefly as possible (maximum of 1,000 words):

How can we maximize the use of the Manoir D’Youville by Châteauguay residents?

Is it possible to create a common space to support the activities of cultural, sports, social, community, environmental and economic organizations?

What would be the best project or most promising vocation to give added value to the Manoir D’Youville’s current hotel function?

Manoir D’Youville in brief

Manoir D’Youville is located on Île Saint-Bernard, bordering on the Châteauguay River and Saint-Louis Lake. It was acquired by the City from the Grey Nuns in October 2010.

The building, which is currently mainly used as a hotel, consists of 114 rooms and nine meeting rooms. A portion of the building, called the Vieux Manoir portion, and Villa Marguerite are used a little or not used at all during the year. The historical importance of Île Saint-Bernard is its unique brand. For more information, visit www.manoirdyouville.ca.

Those interested in making suggestions about the future use of Manoir D’Youville should send an email to nadia.raymond@ville.chateauguay.qc.ca no later than Friday, November 16. If you need more information, please call 450 698-3008.
