Dog parks regulation

Two dog parks are available, where dogs are allowed off-leash in a fenced area under the supervision of their guardian:

  • Parc Oliver (Maple Blvd and Stanton Est Street)
  • Parc Alfred-Dorais (Primeau Blvd and Richelieu Street)

Rules

  • Maximum of 2 dogs per guardian
  • Keep your dog on a leash until you enter the dog park enclosure, near the transition area
  • Ensure, when entering or leaving, that no other dog leaves the park
  • Stay at all times in the dog park with the dog
  • Refrain from bringing your dog to the dog park if it is showing signs of aggressiveness
  • Keep the area clean
  • Do not eat in the park or give the dogs any food, including biscuits and treats
  • Hold liability insurance

To be admitted to a dog park, a dog must: 

  • Be accompanied by a guardian;
  • Have its vaccination program completed and up to date;
  • Have a licence in accordance with the applicable bylaw and wear it at all times.

It is Prohibited

  • For a dog to enter a dog park, if it is ill;
  • For dog trainers to use the parks to conduct their commercial activities;
  • To bring toys inside the dog park;
  • For a child under age 13 to enter a dog park enclosure.
