Special Intervention Zone (ZIS): Châteauguay could be removed from the Order in Council

Monday, 5 August, 2019

The Ville de Châteauguay has just received a notice from the Department of Municipal Affair and Habitations Affairs about a draft ministerial order in council to amend the land use development regulations of the special planning zone (ZIS) issued on July 12.

This amendment, which may be approved within 15 days of the notice, is intended to exempt territories, including Châteauguay, from the restrictions imposed by these regulations.

Given the fact that the latest information received has not yet been approved by the Department, the Ville de Châteauguay will still hold the information meeting planned for the residents targeted by the decree on Wednesday, August 7.

Each owner has received the invitation letter and will be asked to complete a sworn statement at this event.

The designated territory, effective August 5, 2019, may be consulted at https://www.cehq.gouv.qc.ca/zones-inond/ZIS-20190719/index.html
