Fleurons du Québec Announcement | The Ville de Châteauguay Maintains Its 4-Fleurons Ranking

Monday, 2 December, 2019

Châteauguay, December 2, 2019 – This year, the Ville de Châteauguay succeeded in consolidating its 4-fleurons ranking, an honour that highlights the City’s hard work and the quality of its landscaping and horticulture. This accolade also indicates Châteauguay’s efforts to ensure the sustainable development of its natural environment, parks and green spaces.

In 2019, the City underwent a complete evaluation of its organizations, industries and establishments, as well as of the efforts made by its residents, which all contributed to winning the fleurons. The evaluations, made by the Corporation des Fleurons du Québec, are valid for a three-year period and come with a professional report suggesting areas of improvement. These suggestions will be used by our skilled horticulturalists so that, at the next ceremony, the Ville de Châteauguay can improve its score to win the highest possible honour—5-fleurons.

“This recognition clearly shows the efforts made by our arboriculture team to improve our residents’ well-being. Through the beautification of their private properties with plants and landscaping, our residents, like our merchants, give our city a positive and pleasant image,” said Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier.

More than 200 elected officials and municipal representatives were on hand at the official unveiling, including the Ville de Châteauguay’s representatives, Vince McManiman, Horticulturist, and Sylvain Boyer, Parks and Horticulture Superintendent.
