Châteauguay Welcomes the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour The Agora Will Celebrate the Game February 1 and 2

Monday, 20 January, 2020

Châteauguay, January 20, 2020 – On the weekend of Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2, Châteauguay will become the capital of Canadian hockey as one of the stops of the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour. The City will welcome Sportsnet’s star hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone, in addition to offering a full weekend of free entertainment at the Agora.

The program is rich and varied, featuring National Hockey League alumni (including the legendary Marcel Dionne), autograph sessions, ball hockey games and tournament, free food stands, musical performances, live entertainment and variety acts. The activities will wind up on Sunday afternoon with the outdoor broadcast on a giant screen of the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets game from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio.

In addition to celebrating hockey, the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour brings Canadians together from coast to coast with interviews and video capsules so television viewers can get to know the host community better. It is an incredible opportunity for Châteauguay to share its hockey culture and passion across the country, while showcasing its numerous attractions.

“Increasingly, Châteauguay’s reputation is growing, and it stands out not only in its region, but across the province and now across the country. The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour event is really a perfect fit with our city because, in addition to our rich hockey history with star local players, such as Kim St-Pierre and Corey Crawford, we can bet on our values of inclusion, such as equal treatment of male and female hockey, Francophones and Anglophones, and our close relations with the Kahnawake community. I encourage all residents to come to the Agora to celebrate our values of openness, diversity and . . . hockey!” stated Châteauguay Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier.

The event will begin on Saturday February 1 at noon and end on Sunday, February 2 at about 5:00 pm. Many parking spaces will be reserved and a shuttle system will be put in operation for the weekend. You can find more information on Ville de Châteauguay's website.
