Saint-Isidore To Be Served by the Service de sécurité incendie de Châteauguay Until 2030

The Ville de Châteauguay and the Municipality of Saint-Isidore have recently signed a new fire safety cover agreement.

Whereas the previous agreement was based on a partnership between the two municipalities, the new agreement entrusts fire safety in the Saint-Isidore region to the Ville de Châteauguay to comply with the fire safety cover plan. Saint-Isidore will therefore assume a minimum cost par capita and pay per intervention in its region.

The 10-year agreement has been in force since January 1, 2020. The fire safety cover will therefore be ensured until 2030 in the Municipality of Saint‑Isidore. The agreement also provides for the transfer of one Saint-Isidore vehicle to the Châteauguay fire station.

“We believe that the agreement entered into with Saint-Isidore will be more effective in responding to emergency situations and in meeting its fire safety needs. We are pleased that Saint-Isidore residents can now fully benefit from our fire department’s resources and expertise,” stated Châteauguay Mayor Pierre-Paul Routhier.

Mr. Routhier and Patrick Desmarais, Director, Service de sécurité incendie de Châteauguay, did not hesitate to go to the Saint-Isidore city hall to officially sign the agreement.

“Given the requirements of the fire safety cover plan, it is in the best interests of a municipality like Saint-Isidore to benefit from the expertise and resources of a fire department such as that of Châteauguay. We believe that, with this new agreement, we are able to provide Saint-Isidore residents with a high degree of protection at a lower cost,” added Saint-Isidore Mayor Sylvain Payant.
