Poor Paint Adherence: Street Lines Will Be Repainted by October 15

City officials have noticed poor adherence of the paint used to paint lines on streets in some places. Depigmentation of the lines has been observed particularly for crosswalks. For the moment, it is not possible to explain the exact cause(s) of the problem, which could be owing to paint quality, meteorological conditions or the methods used to apply the product.

The paint used by the Ville de Châteauguay is recognized to be in compliance with the standards set by the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ), but it will be analyzed to verify its quality.

As of today, the operations to paint lines have stopped.

To ensure the safety of road users and meet the road signage standards in force, the City will reapply paint in problem areas. The necessary corrections will be made by October 15, 2019.

The City encourages residents to contact Public Works at the address courriel.general@ville.chateauguay.qc.ca if they notice inadequate lines or any other situation related to its services.
