Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. : Au fil de l’eau Picnic at Marcel-Seers Park

Ville de Châteauguay is pleased to invite you to the second revamped edition of the Au fil de l’eau Picnic, together with the Société de conservation et d’aménagement des bassins versants de la zone Châteauguay (SCABRIC), which will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Marcel-Seers park.

All residents are invited to come to this outdoor activity that is perfect for the whole family! You only need to bring food and drinks. Two barbecues, including a charcoal barbecue, picnic tables and many giant picnic tablecloths (picnic blankets) will be made available for free use.

A plethora of activities for young and old will be organized to take full advantage of the site. Activ’Été activity leaders will be present to keep the kids entertained with giant board games, sports and street chalk. A free show will be given by Mojito Quattro from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. A balloon sculpture, make-up and magic will also be on site in addition to Pat’s Pet Show and his many exotic animals!

Au fil de l’eau family picnics are being held as part of June, Water Month, to raise the public’s awareness about the importance of protecting our water resources. A number of organizations in the environment and water fields will help you discover their missions and inform you about various environmental initiatives in Châteauguay: Cultivons Châteauguay, Héritage Saint-Bernard, SCABRIC, Ambioterra and the Châteauguay River Rehabilitation Committee. The Roussillon Regional County Municipality (MRC) will also have a booth to raise information and awareness about composting and the upcoming introduction of brown bins in the City.

A portion of D’Youville Boulevard will be closed between Girouard and Roy streets for the occasion. A detour will be indicated and local traffic only will be authorized. The event will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain. Admission to Marcel-Seers park, at the corner of D’Youville Boulevard and Girouard Street, is free and open to everyone.
