High Winds: The City Will Have a Special Branch Collection Starting on November 12

Further to damage caused by bad weather and high winds last week, the Ville de Châteauguay will offer free branch collection on request starting on Tuesday, November 12.

To receive this service, the instructions below must be followed.

Branches

  • Must be placed on your property, at the curb, with cut ends facing the street;
  • Must be a maximum diameter of 4 in (10 cm) and a maximum length of 10 feet (300 cm);
  • Must be arranged perpendicularly; intertwined branches will not be picked up;
  • Must not be tied together.

As a safety precaution for municipal employees, you are asked to separate branches with thorns.

The City’s branch collection is intended for minor pruning work (1.2 m X 2.4 m X 1.2 m) / (4 in x 8 in x 4 in). Therefore, for major pruning or larger cuts of wood, it is your responsibility to dispose of the resulting residue.

This collection is for branches only. The following will not be picked up:

  • Logs and stumps;
  • Branches with clumps of earth;
  • Vines and yard waste;
  • Wooden boards and building materials.

This collection will only be on request. Residents who would like to take advantage of this service must contact the Division travaux publics at 450 698-3150 or use the B-CITI web application, available at chateauguay.b-citi.com.
