Overnight Parking

No Parking Sign

The City of Chateauguay reminds its citizens that it is strictly forbidden to park on streets overnight during the winter. This bylaw is in force in order to enable snow-removal teams to adequately do their jobs when there are snowstorms and snow showers.

City council recently adopted a few changes to this bylaw following comments and proposals from citizens. Thus, the prohibition period has been reduced and now extends from December 1 (instead of November 1) until April 1.

Moreover, the hours when it is now forbidden to park in the streets overnight will be from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

This municipal bylaw does not prescribe for any other exception. The City of Chateauguay suggests to citizens who are planning to host parties for the night to look for public parking lots in their district or to make some kind of agreement with their neighbours.
