The Suspension of Interest Also Applies to Businesses and Industries

The Ville de Châteauguay would like to remind you that the cancellation of interest on the payment of tax installments, which will be in force until November 5, 2020, is applicable to citizens, businesses and industries on their Châteauguay tax accounts.

As the Municipal Council is aware of the context of financial instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the slowdown of economic activities, it introduced the cancellation measure to support businesses.

Other types of support

The MRC Roussillon has also set up a $1.8M business assistance fund. This assistance fund aims to facilitate access to capital to maintain, consolidate or relaunch the operations of businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by allowing loans of up to $50,000 to those businesses. Applications must be submitted before May 1, 2020. Information on how to apply can be found on the MRC’s website (in French):
https://roussillon.ca/developpement-economique/la-pour-vous-face-au-covid-19/#flicovid.

Reminder

Although municipal buildings remain closed, Services aux citoyens et aux entreprises is still open and may be reached by calling 450 698-3000 between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, and between 8:30 am and noon on Friday.

Lastly, the most recent news about the City’s initiatives related to COVID-19 and how to access the various municipal services is available at: https://www.ville.chateauguay.qc.ca/en/coronavirus.
